Kaapzicht is a family-run winery with Danie Steytler as the fourth-generation winemaker. The Steytler family have been making wine for 75 years. “It’s something that we’re really proud of. [Winemaking] runs in our blood.”
The farm is on the Bottelary Road in the Stellenbosch district, where the granite soils and north-facing slopes allow the old bush vines to grow unirrigated. This leads to more intense berry flavours and a concentrated fruit approach.
Kaapzicht takes pride in creating the everyday drinking Pinotage, which spends 18 to 20 months in French oak, providing the wine with a spicy component.
Have you tasted Kaapzicht’s Pinotage? We would love to hear your feedback!
