Experience Certified Heritage Vineyards, The Waterford Way. Kevin Arnold, David Van Shalkwyk and Mark Le Roux share how they have embraced the old vines as a philosophy, in viticulture and in winemaking practices.
Waterford started their old vine journey with a Chenin blanc vineyard planted in 1966 in Stellenbosch. The knowledge and history of the vineyard has been passed on from four generations. The root system of an old vine is able to create a natural buffer to look after itself.
Working with old vines provides sense of purpose with more than one generation being responsible for making great wine.
