Amorim Cork Life Recycling Project

Natural cork, the kind used in wine closures, is a perfect choice for recycling. It’s 100% natural, biodegradable and renewable. There is no reason why used natural wine corks should end up as garbage.

Corks can be recycled into shoe soles, flooring tiles, building insulation, automotive gaskets, soil conditioner and sports equipment, but also craft and decorating projects. Because of a growing interest in sustainability and recycling, Amorim has established an alliance of concerned businesses, individuals, and ecological organizations to address the opportunities to recycle natural cork closures.

The program is focused on re-purposing used and surplus corks obtained from individual consumers, retail and hospitality organizations, winery tasting rooms, bottling lines and quality assurance laboratories.
