South Africa is participating for the first time in the World Best Sommelier Competition - being held in 2016 in Mendoza in Argentina. There are 61 contestants, and Gareth Ferreira - our very own Top SA Sommelier, has managed to get a place in the Top 15 - for the semi-finals!. Higgo Jacobs (Chairman of the South African Sommeliers Association - SASA) has accompanied Gareth to the competition and they chat with our intrepid Jean Vincent Ridon (runner-up to the SA Top Somm position) about their experience there.
