Schalk Visser from Enaleni Vineyards talks to wine.co.za

Seen as an empowered community of 46 individuals with some being fourth generation, 10 are still full-time workers on the farm. The Enaleni journey has been partly funded by the South African government as well as by Schalk Visser himself as a token of appreciation and to uplift the farm working community of Enaleni. Enaleni was born in 2009 when Schalk Visser (one of the inspirational owners of Nagenoeg) gave a portion of his land to the workers living on the farm as part of a Black Economic Empowerment (BEE, WIETA and Fairtrade-accredited) project.
