Tell your story: Roland Fransman

Meet Roland Fransman, one of the quiet heroes of our cellar. He has worked at Waterford Estate for 10 years, and says he still learns new things every day.

Working in the cellar, Roland has developed an intimate understanding of the process from vineyard to bottle. He knows that winemaking requires patience, precision and plenty of experience.

Roland’s experienced and kind hands also guide our new interns every year. There are many hands behind every bottle of Waterford Estate. Much of what happens in the cellar happens away from the spotlight. But every bottle carries a little piece of Roland's experience and dedication.
