Ken Forrester Vineyards Dirty Little Secret Six

The search for a truly exceptional Chenin Blanc site led Ken and the team to this remarkable vineyard, planted in 1967 at 640 metres above sea level. Rooted in decomposed Table Mountain sandstone soils, fine as talcum powder, and dry-farmed without irrigation, the vineyard benefits from a dramatic diurnal temperature range and cool, misty mornings influenced by its proximity to the Atlantic Ocean. This unique bush-vine Chenin Blanc vineyard captivated Ken from the outset. Its character and sense of place promised something extraordinary. To further enhance complexity, a portion of each vintage was retained and matured separately in old barrels. Following the previous releases of Dirty Little Secret, these reserve components were combined in a traditional solera system, forming the foundation for future blends.
