This week we learn another way of propagating, and that is from cuttings. During this time of year, when we are cleaning our shrubs it is a great time to make cuttings whilst cleaning. Cut your plants down to where you see new growth appearing and use the tops for propagating, make sure they have many nodes from where the roots will eventually appear. Clean the bottom part of the cutting keeping only about three leaves, but be careful not to tear the plant.
Keep your cuttings short and tight as their chances of taking will then be bigger, and stick them into a pot. You can plant more than one in a pot. Roots will start to appear in about two months and then you can decide to divide them and plant it into bigger pots or into the garden.
