Autumn is the season of abundance when fresh fruit and vegetables are plentiful, both for eating and preserving for the colder months ahead as jars of pickles and bottles of chutney start to line the pantry shelves. Favourite soup recipes feature again as do hearty casseroles and pasta dishes.
On the farm, autumn represents a year’s worth of hard work coming to fruition. The vineyard and cellar teams are up to their elbows in harvest time, from closely monitoring vine health to picking at optimal ripeness. This is the time when the grapes are out of the vineyards and into the cellar where they are being carefully crafted into the wines of vintage 2024.
