While out and about on Wildekrans Wine Estate, we were lucky enough to spot a caracal amongst the vineyards. This striking, medium-sized cat is known for its robust build, long powerful legs, large paws and distinctive short tail. In South Africa, we fondly refer to this majestic creature as a 'rooikat'. Its most distinguishing feature? Those sharply pointed, lavishly tufted ears that make it truly unique.
